Eyelash extensions are synthetic lashes that are applied directly to the natural lash, close to the lash line in order to add volume and length to your natural lashes. Eyelash extensions are perfect for special occasions or for a day to day wear.
Eyelash extensions do not hurt if they are applied correctly. They should feel very light, so you can’t feel them.
When lash extensions are applied correctly, they can last up to 6 weeks depending on the natural growth cycle of your own eyelashes.
There are 3 reasons for infills:
If you come for an infill after 4,5 weeks then most of the lashes have fallen off or the ones still there, have probably grown out so we need to remove them. After the removal of the outgrown ones, there won’t be many extensions left and that is why it is considered to be a new full set after 4,5 weeks.
We recommend getting a touch up every 2-4 weeks. A natural eyelash will shed every 60 to 90 days due to the natural growth cycle and is naturally replaced with the growth of a new eyelash.
After 2 or 3 weeks you will start seeing little gaps where the old ones have fallen out, and new ones are coming through. This would be a good time to get an infill to make your lashes look full again.
If you have less than 40% of extensions left, it will be considered as a new set.
When applied correctly, eyelash extensions do not damage your natural lash. Our highly trained lash artists in Glow Lash Studio will take the time and carefully apply an extension only on one natural lash, and will apply an extension that is the appropriate weight and length to ensure the safety and health of your natural lash. Eyelash extensions can be damaging if your lash artist is not using proper techniques. Lashes that are too heavy have a larger amount of adhesive and can cause your natural lash to break.
You most definitely can wear make-up with eyelash extensions although it is very important to go with extensions safe make-up. This means that the make-up and the make-up remover you use around your extensions has to be oil free.
We do not recommend using mascara with eyelash extensions as it will make them fall out faster.
If you do get extensions, it’s important to care for them properly.
Most people have no reactions to eyelash extensions products. However, allergies can always happen even when the best quality products are used. Reactions can be caused by tape, adhesive, cleansers, primers or gel pads. They can happen first time having eyelash extensions or even after years of normal wear with no previous reaction.
If you have had an allergic reaction (swollen and itchy eyelids) you should not have extensions again as it is highly likely that the reaction reoccurs and it can be worse each time. If you have an allergic reaction, you need to seek medical attention as soon as possible.
Yes, you can do all everyday activities while having eyelash extensions. Although, we do recommend washing the extensions directly after a swim or a sweaty workout with a lash cleanser as the salt and chlorine will slowly begin to break down the adhesive.
